Seven years of Excellence!
The Ohio Department of Education released the official report card rankings on February 28th for the 2011/2012 school year,  and the district is again ranked Excellent with Distinction.

We met 26 out of 26 standards, rated "above"  on the value added data, and earned a Performance Index score of 102.4.

Butternut and Forest Primary schools were designated as Schools of Promise. Only 163 schools in Ohio earned this honor.  Strategies used by our staff to close the mathematics and reading achievement gap for students who represent a range of socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds are working.

We are proud of the efforts in all of our nine schools to continue their hard work in the classroom with the support of their parents and community members.

We know that big changes are coming in education, and the bar will be raised on what students will be expected to know before they graduate.

Our plans - including changes to the school day creating more instruction time - are focused on getting ready.  The schedule changes will allow teachers to plan and work together to make sure the students are prepared for the increased expectations.
